On January 1, 1979, the Electro Technical Company Suriname (ETOS) was founded by Mr. R. Duijm and Mr. R. Spreeuw.

Ever-changing demands and wishes of the consumer have led to the company expanding its range since 1999. This is how the company of today slowly but surely came into being: DETO Handelmaatschappij NV with a variety of products for the entire family and for every purpose, housed in 8 well-stocked departments.

In 1999 the assortment consisted only of electrical supplies; through its constant expansion and development of the assortment DETO Handelmaatschappij has become a department store where besides hobbyists and professionals, you can also shop with your whole family to your heart’s content in one of the eight well-stocked departments, namely  the Electrical department, the Water pipes & sanitary department, the Cooling materials department, the Hinges & Locks department, the Tools department, the Furniture department, the Household department, the Flower pots, Garden articles & Garden furniture department.
