The NV Surinaamsche Waterleiding Maatschappij (SWM) is an ISO 9001:2015 certified water supply company that has been producing and supplying drinking water to the Surinamese community for more than eighty years. In 2016, in addition to its own supply areas, it also took over those of the Ministry of Natural Resources, in particular the Water Supply Service. Thanks to the efforts of more than 750 employees, more than one hundred thousand connections can be supplied daily with good and healthy drinking water that is produced according to WHO standards.
The company has five branches, namely the Central Branch (Paramaribo, Para, Wanica), the West Branch (Nickerie & Coronie), the East Branch (Moengo/Albina), the Commewijne Branch and the Saramacca Branch with a total of 36 production stations.
